Dr. Heidi Strohmaier specializes in clinical, forensic, and health psychology.

Dr. Strohmaier opened EnCompass Psychological Services after working as a senior clinical psychologist at a large academic medical center for four years. In addition to providing individual psychological assessment and therapy services in that role, she supervised doctoral psychology trainees, trained physicians, and provided consultation to interdisciplinary providers. During that time, she also applied her graduate forensic training by conducting court-ordered evaluations for criminal and civil matters in Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

Dr. Strohmaier founded EnCompass to more directly focus on her unique interest areas and meet society’s increasing need for mental health services in the legal domain. At EnCompass, Dr. Strohmaier provides individual therapy to adults working to improve their emotional wellness, physical health, and stress management. Her assessment practice primarily involves forensic evaluations for civil and criminal matters, such as personal injury, sentencing, and competence to proceed. She especially enjoys educating and consulting in legal, medical, and corporate settings. For example, Dr. Strohmaier can be retained to advise attorneys “behind the scenes” on various psychological aspects of a case, such as identifying pertinent mental health considerations and critiquing other experts’ evaluations. Across settings, Dr. Strohmaier utilizes best practices grounded in science and sensitive to diversity and contextual considerations.
